BDO Ireland has today launched a new consulting business in Ireland following the merger of its existing management consulting business with the boutique Irish management consulting firm Eaton Square.
Operating as BDO Eaton Square, the new business unit will create up to 100 new management consultant jobs and deliver 30% year on year growth for the next 3 years, achieving €20m in annual revenues.
The launch of BDO Eaton Square heralds a new era for management consulting in Ireland. With ambitious growth plans, Ireland’s newest management consulting powerhouse is focused on helping Irish and global companies who are seeking a fresh alternative. With the promise of ‘Consulting Disrupted’, BDO Eaton Square will challenge the traditional consulting models by bringing an entrepreneurial and client centric approach to the industry.
Following the merger of Eaton Square and BDO Consulting, the combined BDO Eaton Square team will have 45 consultants, rising to 145 in three years. The new unit will service clients globally and locally, with a Partner led service and an entrepreneurial state of mind that is materially different from the standard management consulting offering. The new jobs will be located across BDO Eaton Square’s locations in Ireland: Dublin, Cork and Limerick. Building on the values of both firms, BDO Eaton Square will provide access to a team of experienced, senior professionals who are completely focused on the success of their clients.
Eaton Square is a boutique Irish consulting practice with international experience which was established in 2012 by Aidan McHugh and David O’Connor. The firm is built on the foundations of structural and strategic thinking and delivers entrepreneurial and agile solutions for clients.
Welcoming the announcement, the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Ms. Heather Humphreys, T.D. said:
“It is a great pleasure to join BDO Eaton Square at the announcement of their newly formed partnership and the creation of 100 new jobs which will be based in Dublin, Limerick and Cork. BDO and Eaton Square have built an extremely impressive track record supporting companies in Ireland and globally in realising significant growth. This announcement, and the resulting jobs created, is another tangible indication that Ireland’s professional services industry is going from strength to strength. I have no doubt BDO Eaton Square has a bright future ahead of them and I wish them well in their future endeavours.
Speaking about the move, Michael Costello, Managing Partner, BDO Ireland said: “Our motive in merging our existing consulting business with Eaton Square is to create a powerful new force in management consulting, a force that is Partner led and client focused. The combined consulting teams from BDO and Eaton Square, operating as BDO Eaton Square, will do just that that with further expansion plans already underway. Eaton Square’s entrepreneurial approach to consulting will work really well with our consultancy team and is a natural fit with BDO’s focus on entrepreneurial businesses in Ireland. The goal for this new consulting team is to become Ireland’s leading team of specialist management consultants and advisers.”
Speaking about the merger, Aidan McHugh co-founder of Eaton Square said: “When we established Eaton Square to offer an alternative to other Consulting firms in the market, we had one goal in mind: revolutionise and disrupt the sector in a way that clients wanted. Having started with a team of 4 but now with a team of 30, the reaction from clients proves the need for this new entrepreneurial approach. Thanks to the commitment of our clients and our team, we have successfully built a record of outstanding achievement for clients in Ireland and internationally. Joining forces now with BDO will further our growth by widening and deepening the expertise we offer to clients. Our ambition now, as BDO Eaton Square, is to become Ireland’s leading team of management consultants and advisers.”
